Richard grew up in Lake Macquarie and has been involved with photography since he was 12 (back in the old days of film!) and hasn’t stopped since. In a ‘young-life crisis’ he qualified as a Chef working in Sydney, the Hunter Valley and Newcastle. However the love for photography (and catching the travel bug) resulted in 5 years in London, working as a freelance assistant & digital operator in fashion, advertising, still life, food, interiors, underwater, celebrity, fine art, moving image and much more. Later on he worked at The ProCentre in London, a well established and respected photography rental company. During this time he visited the Broncolor factory in Switzerland and Profoto HQ in Hemel Hempstead as well as experience in equipment including Phase One, Hasselblad (V system and H system including the latest H5D range), Broncolor, Profoto, Manfrotto and more. If he’s not in the office or shooting, you’ll see him cycling on Sydney’s streets, or in front of the TV watching Formula 1.
Janelle grew up on the Central Coast and has been taking photos since she was young too. Yes, it was also on film….. she’s that old! 🙂 Her background is organising events, from weddings to conferences, to private dinners both in Sydney and London, and has even organised a photo shoot or two! Although most commonly found as first assistant during Richard’s shoots, she does dabble in nature and landscape photography and macro flowers! Her love of travel has taken her around Europe and dabbled into Asia, taking many thousands of photos along the way. She completed a 365 for 2014, showcasing all the images from her memories of her travels and her final year in London. If she’s not working, you will find her with her head in a book, cycling the streets of Sydney with Richard, or baking some treats in the kitchen!
